in a wide variety of media. Her Studies have encompassed painting, sculpture,

Rebecca Grohowski Distilling her artistic tendencies over time,
photography has become her focal point.
Deriving her greatest pleasure from
the visual experience of color and texture,
Rebecca reaches for the beauty in the decadence of decay. Her work is a study of transformation
from an original state of being -
into a state of splendid deterioration.
Cracking, peeling, crumbling, rusting, flaking, streaking, fading, falling.
This work strives to resurrect a vivid life of color and motion from things broken down.

All of Rebecca's images are actual photographs of found objects.
They are not re-touched or altered in any way beyond
that which the conventional darkroom would allow.
You are seeing what she sees through the lens of the camera.
This honest exploration of the world lends excitement to the hunt for the perfect composition.
In addition to spending time in her photography,
Rebecca is also an experienced ballroom and social dance instructor, and a
certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. She resides in San Diego, California.
These days, her camera goes with her wherever she goes.
